Shannon McNutt (Director) discovered her love for teaching quite "by accident" when she was doing volunteer work at a high school for a friend! She began teaching at Norland Middle School Center for the Arts in 1990. Recruited to Apopka High School (Orlando, Florida) in 1993, Miss McNutt was the Drama Department Chairperson in the Arts and Communications Academy where her department produced five to six shows annually. Miss McNutt was responsible for directing three productions per year and taught Drama I-IV. She also coached the Forensics Team (Individual Events) where they successfully competed at national finals each year. In 2000, she had the wonderful opportunity to return to her home, Michigan, and began teaching at PCEP. It has been seven MARVOOO years teaching Drama/Speech, Ensemble Performance and developing The Second Stage Players!! Miss McNutt received her BFA in Theatre from California Institute of the Arts and a MA from Wayne State University. She has worked as a professional actress and dancer and has extensive professional training with artists such as Uta Hagen, John Houseman, and Robert Bennedetti. With a passion for teaching, working with kids, and theatre, Miss McNutt continues her studies and training by participating in various professional workshops and classes throughout the year in the United States, England and Canada. |
